All are invited to attend a guest lecture titled “ Designing Streets for People ” by Fabrizio Prati, Director of Design at the Global Designing Cities Initiative . Originally a program of the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), the Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI) was founded in 2014 by Janette Sadik-Khan, former commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation. Supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, GDCI works with cities worldwide to transform streets into safer, healthier, and more equitable public spaces. Fabrizio will share insights from international street design projects, exploring how cities around the world are reimagining their streets and public spaces. The lecture is part of the Introduction to Urban Planning and Design course and is made possible through a teaching enhancement grant from the Office of the Vice Provost for Experiential Learning.
