Food is a universal force that unites us across cultures, geography, and background, both as a fundamental need for life and as the glue of our relationships, whether it’s a date, a family gathering, or even a job interview. At the same time, food plays a real role in shaping identity and uniqueness across different regions of the world. Understanding the historical and cultural context behind a dish is key to truly appreciating global cuisine, and what’s better than learning about food? Cooking it. Together, we’ll explore staple dishes from West and East Africa, and get a little more familiar with the diets and cultures of our peers.
