Frequently asked questions

Is PulseU an official Rutgers app?
No. PulseU is an independent student-built app. It aggregates publicly available event information from official Rutgers sources but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Rutgers University. Always verify event details on the original source page linked in each listing.
Why is an event showing the wrong time or location?
PulseU pulls data from source websites every few hours. If an event was updated recently, there may be a short delay before the change appears. Always tap "View Original" on the event detail screen to check the most current information directly from the source. If something looks persistently wrong, please email us and we'll look into it.
Why is an event from my org missing from the app?
PulseU only shows events that are publicly listed on the source platforms (getINVOLVED, Recreation, ScarletKnights, Mason Gross, and Rutgers New Brunswick Events). If your event is published publicly on one of those platforms and still isn't appearing, email us at pulseu.app@gmail.com and we'll investigate.
Does PulseU collect my personal data?
No. PulseU does not require an account and does not collect personal information. Your saved events, followed orgs, and interest preferences are stored locally on your device only — they are never sent to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Is PulseU available on Android?
Not yet. PulseU is currently iOS only. Android support is something we're considering for a future version depending on how the launch goes.
How often is the event data updated?
Our backend scraper runs automatically every 6 hours, pulling the latest events from all connected sources. For time-sensitive events, we recommend tapping "View Original" to confirm details directly with the source.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email us at pulseu.app@gmail.com with a description of what happened and which screen you were on. If you can include a screenshot that helps a lot. We take every bug report seriously.
